Events All Around & the City of Tempe is proud to announce The 1st Annual Tempe Rockabilly Reunion October 28-30, 2011. This is the largest event focused on a themed 1950’s car show in The Phoenix Metropolitan Area. Hosted at the Tempe Diablo Stadium the home of the Los Angeles Angels Major League Baseball team spring training camp.

The Lake Havasu Rockabilly Reunion going on its fourth year has created a sister event just for the Phoenix area and is offering so many attractions for all ages. This family oriented event themed as a 1950’s Rockabilly event is focused to entertain all ages and we invite everyone to come enjoy the sites and activities for all to enjoy.

THE EVENT IS OFFICIALLY SANCTIONED BY THE ROCKABILLY HALL OF FAME FROM NASHVILLE TENNESSEE.

Hell on Wheels 2012 Calendar!! / Or DIE!!!

Hell on Wheels Calendar 2012!! I am Miss March!! Honestly I was so excited to do this project but this project was pretty FUNKY! The make-up artist had a meltdown because I added make-up on after she finished. I could hear her yelling outside about me. I have never been on a more uncomfortable shoot in my life. Wierd! The main pic was me loosing my balance on the bike and probably wouldn't have been my choice. I asked to approve but to no avail. Lastly they forgot to invite me to release party. Whoops! My bad! I swear I didn't do anything. It was so bizarre. I feel used like a dirty dish towel :o(

POOR FALCON!!!

It has been a rough couple of months for my Falcon!! In April of this year my Falcon was seriously vandalized in Huntington Beach while I was out of town at theViva Las Vegas Car show. All four tires were flatene and all four ORIGINAL rims were stolen. Then as if that weren't enough......The lowlife spray painted yellowish glue adhesive all over my car. I believe that this person is someone who is mentally unstable and needs to seek help. I'm sure I know who did it and I feel really bad for that person.

Then a few months later

I was cruising down the street and outta nowhere a little old lady T-Boned me!!! Grrrrrr!
I am happy to say though I have had her in the shop for the last three weeks and she's supposed to be done by this Friday. I have to admit I've been enjoying a rental car (Dodge Caliber) and the air conditioning. What a luxury haha! I will keep you up to date on the revitalization of my ride.

How the Leopard got its spots!

HOW DID THE LEOPARD GET THEIR SPOTS

More than a century after Rudyard Kipling offered his own explanation in the Just So Stories, scientists have revealed how the leopard got his spots. The animals' dark, rosette-like markings, and those of other wild cats, are evolution's response to the creatures' surroundings and to whether they hunt by day or night, say researchers at Bristol University. Cats that hunt on open, rocky ground by daylight tend to have evolved plain-coloured coats, while those that pounce from rainforest tree branches typically sport dappled fur. In each habitat, the cat's markings improve its camouflage and make it a more effective predator. For smaller cats, fur colour can help them hide from larger carnivores.

Will Allen, a behavioural ecologist, studied the coat patterns of 35 wild cat species and compiled details of their habitats, hunting styles and when they went on the prowl.
Cats with complex and irregular markings, such as the familiar spotted leopard, were commonly found in dense, dark forests and hunted at night.

In Kipling's 1902 tale, an Ethiopian hunter paints spots on a leopard to help it blend into the "speckly, patchy-blatchy shadows" of the forest.
"Apart from the painting part, Kipling was quite right," said Allen. "The leopard got its spots from a life in forested habitats, where it made use of the trees and nocturnal hunting."

A report on the study appears in the journal Proceedings of the Royal Society B.

Ten cats in Allen's study had plain coats and lived in open, often barren landscapes. The sand cat is found in the arid deserts of Asia and Africa and has particularly furry feet to protect them from the scorching sands.The plain-furred Pallas's cat melts into the treeless steppes of central Asia, while the small Andean mountain cat has a silver-grey coat that matches the rocky landscape.

In some parts of the world, jaguars and leopards are completely black, an adaptation that only seems to arise in species that live in a diverse range of habitats.In the study, Allen asked volunteers to match the fur of different wild cats to computer-generated coat patterns that varied from plain and simple to complex and irregular markings. When Allen compared the markings across the cat family tree, he found that similar patterns emerged quickly and several times during feline evolution.

Some cats appear to have markings that are not suited to their natural stalking grounds. The cheetah, for example, has a distinctive spotted coat but lives in the sparse deserts of sub-Saharan Africa.But the animal's impressive athleticism means it can reach more than 60 miles per hour in three seconds, and so it may rely less on camouflage than other cats.

My Mason!

I wanted to share some pictures of me and my boyfriend Mason. His friends and family call him Mase. He comes from a little town called Stallion Springs (Beautiful hidden place)  in Tehachapi CA. He has a wonderful loving family. He is definitely not like the guys around here. HOW WE MET: I was at the bank in my 62 Ford Falcon looking really cute (haha well I was) As I was getting ready to get out of the car and go inside the bank this REALLY hot guy pulled up next to my car on a chopper and gave me this look like I have never seen. He was wearing a red flannel and black sunglasses looking REALLY cool and I just knew he wasn't from around my town. We both gazed at the other acting like we were too good for the other and I proceeded to walk into the bank as he trailed behind me slowly. He went to the ATM outside (Drrr) as I was waiting in line at the bank  I watched him rip out of the parking lot, made a u-turn & made a left on the first street. It was like I was meant to see where he lived or some wierd thing. I was so bummed that he didn't say hi to me. That was when I was really getting tired of guys not approaching me so I decided to follow him home (I know total stalker). As I drove slowly down the street I noticed his bike parked in the driveway. I was so scared and felt so stupid but I did it anyways....So I ran up and tied a note to the handle bar on his bike with a purple rubber band. It read something like I am totally stalking you, call me. blah blah blah! He had no idea it was me. Later he told me he was kicking himself for not talking to me.....So he texted me and we went out like a day later as we were thrilled to have made contact with eachother. I usually don't share my personal life with the public but it is a great story. Unreal.....Well Here ya go!

Something else you may not know about me!!!

I drove Demolition Derby sponsored by Electric Chair several years ago!! Crazy I know! I got 5th place out of 15 men drivers (arguably 4th) My gear switch clip fell out or else I would have probably won!! Grrr!

Siberian Tigers Oh My!!!

Here I am in 2002 working hands on with a Siberian Tiger. His name is Sherkhan (at the time) a 6 month old beautiful Siberian tiger. I worked on a 35 acre farm in Gambier Ohio with 3 Siberian tigers, 2 Bengal tigers (one was white with blue eyes) and a male African lion and one African female lioness as well as a goat and 3 house cats and a Wiener Riemer dog. It was one of the most amazing years of my life. I attended Big Cat training to teach the public about the plight of the tiger and to bring awareness of the black market. Believe me I am a huge animal activist so a big cat in captivity always bothered me. I was trained in basic animal husbandry and became very close with these beautiful creatures. However Sherkhan and I had a very special relationship. I hand fed the kitties frozen horse meat (gross I know) and cleaned the stalls along with the horse stall. I hope you enjoy these images as I was truely meant to be a nature lover. I am planning on being a photo journalist and shoot wildlife as well as third world happenings. Stay tuned!
